I learned to knit when I was a teenager. I know what you’re thinking- what teenager wants to sit home and knit? The thing is, being a teenager was rough for me. I wasn’t popular and wasn’t involved in any extracurricular activities. After school I would go to my grandmother’s house and we would sit and talk. One day she was a little chilly and covered herself up with this beautiful knitted blanket. I asked where she bought it and when she told me that she made it herself, that’s when my knitting adventure began. Every afternoon we would work on our knitting together while we chatted about the days events and marvel at the creations we were making. I’m a grown up now and my sweet grandmother has passed. Even after 10 years I still knit, blankets mostly. Instead of sitting around talking while knitting I know enjoy watching Satellite TV from directstartv.com. What I love most about knitting is the sense of satisfaction I have when I complete a blanket, hat or scarf I am working on and can give it to a beloved friend or relative. Even though I have spent over a decade of my life knitting, I hope to spend many decades more!
